The Foreman-Auto Technician oversees the daily operations of the auto repair shop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality service, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves supervising technicians, providing hands-on support, and maintaining excellent customer relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of automotive technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Workflow Management: Organize and prioritize repair jobs, ensuring timely completion and efficiency in operations.
- Technical Expertise: Diagnose complex vehicle issues and assist technicians with repairs as needed.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company standards and customer expectations.
- Customer Service: Communicate with customers regarding vehicle repairs, providing updates and recommendations based on diagnostics.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for technicians on new technologies and repair techniques.
- Performance Evaluation: Assess technician performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in automotive repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic skills, leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in automotive repair software and tools; up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
