Automotive "Bench" Service Advisor – Plainfield, IL Area

About the Role

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and supporting automotive teams? GreatWater 360 Auto Care is seeking a Bench Service Advisor to join our growing team. This unique role travels between shops in the district to assist with staffing needs and ensure smooth operations. When not assigned to another shop, you’ll work from your home shop.

As a Bench Service Advisor, you’ll create a memorable experience for every customer, build trust-based relationships, and collaborate closely with technicians and service managers.

Company: GreatWater 360 Auto Care

Pay: $18 - $25 per hour plus district’s average monthly bonus
Location: Plainfield, IL and surrounding district shops

What You’ll Do

• Travel to shops in the district to fill in for staffing gaps (PTO, absences, etc.)
• Greet customers warmly and assist with questions in the waiting area
• Answer phone calls promptly and professionally
• Manage vehicle workflow, track repairs, and update work orders
• Communicate clearly with technicians and service managers
• Build estimates, obtain customer approvals, and process payments
• Perform road tests as needed
• Support shop operations with tasks like shuttling customers, picking up parts, or other duties as required
• Train new Service Advisors when needed

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years experience as a Service Advisor or similar role
• Strong customer service and sales skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Flexible schedule (may include evenings and weekends)
• Mechanical knowledge is a plus!
