AMM is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. the ideal candidate will perform maintenance, repairs and diagnostics om diesel powered equipment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-10 hours per day
Hourly Rate $22 - $28 per hour

Job Summary 

The Technician is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation

Essential Job Functions 

· Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer

· Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light to medium duty vehicles

· Perform safety and BIT inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required

· Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

· Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles

· Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance

· Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles

· Perform other duties as required

-Punctuality and regular attendance is mandatory

Qualifications and Requirements 

· At least 3 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school

· ASE Certifications a plus

· Must have valid Driver’s License- Class C

· Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email

· Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

· Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly

Mechanics often lift heavy parts and tools, handle greasy or dirty equipment, and work in uncomfortable positions. Although cuts or burns are common, the work is generally not hazardous when workers follow basic safety precautions. For indefinite periods of time - mobility within truck shop and field environment; exposure to fume/odor, dust/mite, and mechanical hazards; exposure to constant noise

In addition to using computerized diagnostic equipment, mechanics use a variety of power and machine tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, grinding machines, and welding equipment. Hand tools, including pliers, socket and ratchets, and screwdrivers, are commonly used. They must communicate clearly and effectively, in person and by two-way radio. They are required to operate a motor vehicle, and may be required to test drive company equipment.
