Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector for an aerospace manufacturer.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years experience as a Mechanical Inspector within a manufacturing environment. Industry related experience in aerospace or defense is highly preferred.
Must have the ability to identify and resolve problems, effectively manage change and deal with conflict in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do:
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products through thorough inspections and analysis. Your expertise in quality systems and management will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of excellence.
- Utilize various measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to accurately measure dimensions.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify any defects or abnormalities in the products
- Analyze test data and inspection results to identify trends or areas for improvement
- Collaborate with production teams to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Conduct quality audits to ensure adherence to quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) procedures
- Document inspection findings, maintain accurate records, and prepare detailed reports for management review
- Performing and Approving the quality of raw materials before manufacturing begins
- Read and understand blueprints and specifications
- Monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards
- Accept or reject finished items
- Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
- Report inspection and test data
- Responsible for incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
- Perform Receiving, 1st Piece and In-Process Inspections for work in process during manufacture
Requirements
- 3+ years of work experience or related work experience required
- College degree or equivalent required
- Able to perform First Article inspection in accordance with AS9100 in process and final inspection processes
- Knowledge of operating electronic inspection equipment, such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) a plus
- Knowledge of MRP software systems and ERP system a plus, Epicor is preferred
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 5S and/or Lean Manufacturing
- Must be a US Citizen or lawful resident of the US due to ITAR
