Description

Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists is looking for a night-shift Reman Tire Technician.


The Reman Tire Technician  is responsible for repairing damaged alloy wheels on automotive vehicles, including cars, SUVs, and light trucks, by successfully performing the following duties daily:  


Duties  

- Repairs damaged wheels following the AWRS remanufacturing process.  - Performs a specific duty at the designated work station as determined by the shop foreman or operations manager.  - Must possess the ability to perform all other work station duties as required to complete the job, such as:   - Cleans wheels and completes the AWRS “check-in” policy   - Removes and separates the tire from the wheel, checking for bends in the wheel.   - Inspects for structural damages around the mounting surface, lug nut holes, valve stem area, spokes, and barrel, specifically looking for cracks.   - Demonstrates the ability to straighten a wheel.   - Must be able to singe a wheel safely using the AWRS method and know how to operate the Wheelabrator.   - Must be capable of using a sandblaster properly and safely.   - Must learn to weld a cracked wheel safely and repair the welded area using abrasive tools.   - Will learn to operate the lathe if not already familiar.   - Will learn to powder coat and paint wheels.  - Must be able and willing to teach or train fellow employees in the skillset you possess at your workstation.  - Maintains a clean and safe working environment throughout the reman center and specifically at your individual workstation. You may have more than one workstation to clean daily.  - Willing to complete all other duties necessary to repair all wheels requiring attention during your work shift.  



Requirements

 Qualifications:  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed:  


Education/Experience:  

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  


Language Ability:  

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to employees of the organization, especially when training a fellow employee.  

Certificates and Licenses:  

Certification from the AWRS Training Department for Wheel Repair excellence.  

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Salary Description
$14-$30/hr
