SUMMARY OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITY: 

The Client Services Technician at Allied Stone is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to clients during the installation, maintenance, and repair processes of natural stone countertops. This role involves visiting client sites to assess installation requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.  

 

Essential Functions:

  • Measuring and Templating: Accurately measure and create templates for stone countertops based on client specifications.
  • Cutting and Shaping: Operate saws, grinders, and other machinery to cut and shape stone slabs to the desired dimensions and designs.
  • Polishing and Finishing: Polish and finish stone surfaces to achieve smooth, high-quality finishes.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed countertops to ensure they meet quality standards and design specifications.
  • Material Handling: Safely handle and transport heavy stone slabs using appropriate lifting equipment and techniques.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and perform routine checks on tools and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or imperfections that arise during the fabrication process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, such as designers and installers, to ensure seamless workflow and project completion.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of measurements, material usage, and job progress for each project.

 
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TRAINING): 

 Required Education:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

 Preferred Education:  

  • Technical or vocational training or apprenticeship in masonry or stone fabrication

 Required Experience:  

  • Entry Level position willing to train the right candidate.

 Preferred Experience

  •  1 year of experience in stone fabrication.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Knowledge: 

  • Material Properties: Understanding the characteristics and properties of various types of stone, such as granite, marble, quartz, and others.
  • Fabrication Techniques: Knowledge of cutting, shaping, polishing, and finishing techniques specific to stone fabrication.
  • Tool and Machinery Operation: Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of specialized tools and machinery used in stone countertop production.
  • Safety Standards: Awareness of industry safety standards and protocols to prevent workplace accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Skills: 

  • Precision Measuring: Proficiency in using measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and fitting of countertops.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to operate and troubleshoot fabrication equipment and machinery.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skill in handling tools and performing detailed work with precision.
  • Problem-Solving: Capability to identify and address issues or imperfections in the stone during the fabrication process.
  • Time Management: Efficiently managing time to complete tasks within deadlines while maintaining high quality.

Abilities: 

  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure high standards of craftsmanship and quality control.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy stone slabs and standing for extended periods.
  • Spatial Reasoning: Strong spatial awareness to visualize and plan the layout and design of countertops.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and understand client specifications.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to learn new techniques and adapt to different types of projects and materials.

 Work Environment: 

 The work environment in the stone manufacturing industry may involve exposure to dust, noise, and various weather conditions. The employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots. 

 
Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to lift and move heavy stone materials.
  • Stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Dexterity and precision for operating machinery and handling stone products.


Travel Required:
Limited Travel Required for training opportunities.
