Desirable Qualifications
1. Journeymanship papers or equivalent from a recognized organization. 2. Recent experience in teaching Forklift Courses. 3. Experience working with Automotive Trades Union for Heavy Duty Mechanics. 4. Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and diesel educational programs is desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of experience in Diesel Mechanics/Forklift; OR 2. Possession of an Associate Degree from an accredited college AND six (6) years of experience in Diesel Mechanics/Forklift; OR 3. May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Diesel Mechanics. (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990) 6. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
