Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of trailer types, including commodity belt trailers, express-floor trailers, hopper trailers, flatbeds, and chip trailers.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical issues with trailers, chassis, and related components.
  • Replace or repair defective parts, including high-tensile steel chassis, aircraft-grade aluminum body panels, axles, suspension systems, brake systems, and more.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and services completed.
  • Ensure all repairs and services comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the service and parts teams to ensure timely and efficient repairs.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by delivering high-quality, timely work.
  • Assist with inventory control and ordering parts as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in trailer repair or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a trailer mechanic or similar role in the trailer or automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including braking, electrical, and suspension systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of mechanical issues.
  • Experience working with high-tensile steel and aluminum materials is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
