We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Agricultural Science Teacher to join our high school agriculture program, specializing in Agricultural Mechanics. This position is part of a collaborative, supportive team of four ag teachers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ag mechanics and a passion for working with students both in the classroom and through hands-on learning experiences.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Teach courses in Agricultural Mechanics and related pathways
Supervise, transport, and support students showing animals and projects
Sponsor FFA programs, Coach LDE and CDE teams
Assist with chapter activities, county show, state, and national events
Overnight travel is required at times throughout the school year and summer
