The Assistant Service Manager serves as a bridge between the front counter and the shop floor, bringing organization, leadership presence, and problem-solving to daily operations while contributing to an exceptional experience for both our guests and our team members, consistent with the Christian Brothers Automotive mission and values.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Greet every guest who enters the facility with hospitality, professionalism, and respect, serving as a trusted point of contact throughout their visit
Present repair recommendations and solutions clearly and ethically, with a strong focus on driving sales performance while maintaining honesty and integrity

Assist in managing the store’s daily workflow in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring strong coordination between the front counter and shop floor
Dispatch work to technicians based on skill level, availability, and job priority to maximize productivity, efficiency, and repair quality
Monitor repair progress and proactively address workflow challenges to support shop goals and guest expectations
Provide leadership presence within the shop, helping reinforce accountability, professionalism, and Christian Brothers Automotive values
Support hiring efforts by advising on staffing needs, participating in interviews, and providing operational input during the hiring process
Participate in employee performance reviews by offering feedback, observations, and recommendations (without direct responsibility for conducting reviews)
Assist in identifying shop needs, including staffing advising, team training opportunities, and process improvements
Advise the Service Manager and Owner on staffing needs, participate in interviews, and provide input on candidate selection and team fit.
Participate in quarterly and annual performance reviews by offering observations and recommendations related to sales performance, workflow, and guest experience.
Manage shop parts operations, including parts ordering, tracking, returns, and daily parts reconciliation
Maintain accurate inventory control to support efficiency and cost management
Process and submit warranty labor claims accurately and in a timely manner
Communicate professionally and clearly with guests, vendors, and team members—both in person and over the phone
Build and maintain long-term relationships between the store, guests, and team members
Direct, coordinate, and participate in guest service activities as dictated by workload and shop needs
Provide safe shuttle service for guests as needed in a Christian Brothers Automotive branded vehicle
Work collaboratively with the team and assist other employees as needed to meet daily operational demands
Ensure all repairs and services meet Christian Brothers Automotive standards and specifications
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
