Job Summary:
The Automotive Mechanic/Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems and components. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work to ensure customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential safety concerns or future maintenance needs.
  • Perform advanced repairs and component replacements, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and electrical system repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and labor hours, in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
  • Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure issues have been resolved and the vehicle is operating safely.
  • Communicate with the Service Advisor to provide detailed explanations of repairs needed, estimated costs, and timelines.
  • Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology, tools, and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited automotive technology program is preferred.
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, with experience in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and repair software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and customers.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to various weather conditions and automotive fluids.

Working Hours:
This position may require working various shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on business needs.
