Job Summary
We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Diesel Technicians/ Mechanics to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate excels at diagnosing complex issues and performing intricate repairs on diesel engines, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You'll be a key player in keeping our equipment reliable and safe in a fast-paced recycling environment.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in diesel engines, transmissions, and related systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
Execute intricate repairs on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and electronic control modules.
Perform thorough inspections to identify and address potential issues, ensuring operational reliability and safety.
Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and team members to prioritize and complete repair tasks efficiently.
Document diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately, adhering to industry standards.
Stay current with advancements in diesel technology and repair techniques through continuous learning.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience as a Diesel Technician/ Mechanic, with demonstrated expertise in complex diagnostics and repairs.
Advanced proficiency with diagnostic tools.
In-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, turbochargers, and electronic control modules.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve intricate mechanical and electrical issues.
Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE Heavy Duty Truck, OEM-specific certifications) or equivalent experience.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with diesel equipment used in industrial or recycling settings (e.g., forklifts, loaders, or material handlers).
Knowledge of fleet management software or telematics systems.
Experience mentoring or training junior technicians.
