About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lube Technician to join our Jiffy Lube Multi-Care team in Aggieland! You’ll be an essential part of ensuring the smooth operation of our customer’s vehicles while upholding safety and quality standards. Job Responsibilities

  • Complete all required computer-based and on-the-job training within the specified timeframe.
  • Arrive on time for shifts in proper uniform and required PPE (e.g., slip-resistant shoes), maintaining good hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, using safety equipment and following all safety procedures.
  • Greet guests professionally within 5 feet with a pleasant demeanor.
  • Attend store meetings, including monthly safety meetings.
  • Follow all ABME Auto and Jiffy Lube policies and procedures.
  • Engage in curbside marketing activities, such as holding advertising signs, cold calling businesses, or handing out coupons/flyers outside the store.
  • Be energetic and engaging with guests to attract attention safely.
  • Maintain the guest lounge, restrooms, parking lot, and surrounding property for an optimal guest experience.
  • Clean, organize, and stock your workstation for easy access to tools.
  • Greet guests and escort them to the lounge while providing orientation on amenities like coffee/water and restrooms.
  • Use protective covers on vehicle floors and seats.
  • Drive guest vehicles into and out of the bay area.
  • Assist with a complete check of vehicle lights.
  • Vacuum the vehicle’s interior and clean exterior windows.
  • Safely guide vehicles into and out of the bay area.
  • Prevent vehicle damage with proper fender cover placement.
  • Check and communicate initial oil levels and verify correct oil filter application.
  • Adjust tire pressure, check fluids, and replace caps as needed.
  • Start vehicles, check oil pressure gauges, and dipsticks.
  • Perform upper bay quality inspections to ensure zero defects.
  • Conduct under-vehicle inspections, removing the oil drain plug and filter.
  • Inspect and replace the oil drain plug and gasket if necessary.
  • Lubricate fittings and check gearboxes as needed.
  • Report under-vehicle status to the upper bay.
  • Perform lower bay quality inspections.
  • (Following certification, as directed by store management) pass the state-issued background check.
  • Attend state inspection training and obtain certification.
  • Maintain tools and machines in the inspection area, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Conduct vehicle safety and emissions inspections according to state guidelines.
  • (Following certification, as directed by store management) gather and input guest and vehicle information into the computer system.
  • Review oil options, vehicle recommendations, and service details with guests.
  • Present air filters to guests and address any service-related questions.
  • Recap services requested, provide pricing, and estimate timeframes.
  • Communicate additional services to the upper bay and gather parts for installation.
  • (Following certification, as directed by store management) ensure the team works efficiently and productively.
  • Complete vehicle reports and monitor work progress.
  • Coach teammates and provide performance feedback.


Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to safely drive guest vehicles.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as oil and grease guns, hand tools, radiator machines, tire rotation equipment, and more.
  • Comfortable working in environments with extreme temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive motions like bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

    Physical Demands

    • Stand on concrete or metal surfaces for up to 8 hours.
    • Work in environments with extreme temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes.
    • Lift and move inventory items up to 50 pounds.
    • Perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting for extended periods.
